Durkee is a spices and seasonings brand and a subsidiary of B&G Foods. The project involved migrating the brand's existing site and developing a new custom Elementor WordPress theme, completed while consulting at Digital Yalo as part of the broader B&G Foods brand platform work.
The migration was the technical centerpiece of the project — legacy content was mapped and transferred to a new WordPress environment using custom SQL alongside custom WordPress functionality. Product listings, recipe content, and supporting media required careful mapping between the legacy system's data structures and the WordPress content model to ensure accurate and complete transfer.
A custom Elementor theme was developed to reflect Durkee's brand identity as a spice and seasoning company, with layout and visual conventions appropriate for a consumer food product site. Elementor's component-based approach enabled the site's editorial team to create and update content pages without requiring code changes for each update.
As part of the larger B&G Foods migration effort handled through Digital Yalo, the Durkee project shared technical conventions and infrastructure approaches with the other brand sites in the portfolio — including Green Giant, Cream of Wheat, Clabber Girl, and Wright's Liquid Smoke — while maintaining the distinct visual identity that differentiates the Durkee brand from its sister products within the B&G Foods family.
