Dickinson Financial is a banking franchise operating a network of bank branches, and the project involved developing the front-end interface for a promotional site targeting the company's customer base. The work was completed while consulting with Tenthwave, a New York-based digital agency, which managed the client relationship and handled server-side development internally.
The promotional site's front end was built using HTML and CSS, with the visual design and layout specifications provided by Tenthwave's creative team. The server-side application powering the site was developed by Tenthwave's backend engineers using Java Spring MVC, with the front-end code integrated into that framework once the client-side layer was completed.
In addition to the promotional site, the project included developing several HTML emails for a mass email campaign. Cross-client HTML email development requires particular care with CSS — the fragmented rendering support across email clients, especially older versions of Outlook, demands table-based layouts, inline styles, and systematic testing to ensure the design renders correctly in the environments the target audience uses. Building a reusable, well-structured email template that works reliably across major email clients reduces rework for future campaign sends.
The combination of a promotional web experience and a coordinated email campaign reflects a standard multi-channel marketing approach for a banking franchise, where the goal is to drive promotional awareness through email and direct respondents to the web destination for conversion or further information.
