LBi Health was the health and pharmaceutical division of LBi Interactive Agency, a large digital agency headquartered in New York City. The project involved developing a department site for LBi Health, completed while consulting with the agency, serving as both a capability showcase and a resource for the division's pharmaceutical and healthcare client work.
The back end was built on WordPress with the Pods CMS plugin providing a custom content management layer. Pods extends WordPress's content architecture with custom post types, content relationships, and custom fields that go beyond what the default WordPress data model supports — useful for a healthcare agency division that may need to manage structured content types like case studies, service offerings, or specialty area descriptions in a more organized way than standard WordPress posts allow.
An AJAX module was developed to capture and package bundles of content for sharing via email. This type of feature allows site visitors to select specific pieces of content — articles, resources, or case study summaries — and have them compiled and sent to an email address. For a healthcare agency's division site where content might be shared among client teams or prospective clients, this kind of curated content-sharing functionality serves a practical business development or knowledge-sharing purpose.
The engagement with LBi involved working within the agency's internal development context, contributing to a project for the agency's own web presence rather than for an external client. The scope covered both the WordPress/Pods back-end architecture and the front-end implementation, coordinated with the LBi Health team's content and design requirements.
