Neosporin Essentials was a consumer product information site for the Neosporin over-the-counter wound care brand, part of the Johnson & Johnson consumer healthcare portfolio. The project was a consulting engagement for LBi Health, the pharmaceutical and healthcare division of LBi Interactive Agency in New York, focused on front-end development and integration work within the existing site.
The scope of work covered small front-end development tasks and bug fixes — targeted improvements within an existing codebase rather than a full rebuild. LBi Health managed the broader site and client relationship, with consulting contributions integrated into the agency's ongoing development workflow.
A technically significant aspect of the project was the implementation of personally identifiable data capture and encryption on the site's multiple forms. Consumer healthcare sites that collect user information — contact details, health-related inputs, or promotional registrations — carry data handling obligations that require appropriate security measures. Encrypting PII at the point of collection, before storage or transmission, is a standard data protection practice, and implementing it correctly across multiple form types required careful integration with the PHP-based back end responsible for processing and storing submitted data.
Working on a site managed by an enterprise pharmaceutical agency for a large consumer brand involves specific quality and compliance considerations — front-end changes need to be tested thoroughly and implemented in a way that does not create issues with how the site presents regulated or brand-sensitive content.
