Purchasing Power

Purchasing Power involved developing a custom WordPress promotional microsite for a financial services company with the team at Digital Yalo.

Purchasing Power is a voluntary benefits company that provides employer-sponsored purchasing programs, allowing employees to acquire electronics, appliances, and other products through payroll deduction. The project involved developing a custom WordPress promotional microsite for the company, completed while consulting with Digital Yalo.

The microsite was built to support a specific promotional campaign with a lead generation mechanic at its center. Visitors who engaged with the promotion received a secret code that could be used to enter a prize drawing or unlock a promotional offer. This type of gating mechanism — where a code is the incentive for providing contact information or completing a specific action — is a straightforward lead capture approach that creates a clear transaction: user receives code, brand captures contact data and engagement information.

Custom WordPress theming established the visual presentation for the microsite, aligned with Purchasing Power's brand identity and the promotional context. Microsites for specific campaigns are typically designed to be more focused and visually distinct than a company's main site — the goal is to draw attention to the promotion and drive a single conversion action, rather than presenting the full scope of the company's services.

The promotional nature of the engagement meant the microsite had a defined campaign lifecycle — it needed to be built, launched, and function reliably during the campaign window. Digital Yalo managed the client relationship and campaign context, with development work scoped to building and deploying the WordPress-based promotional experience.
