Retire at Berry is a retirement community offering independent living for older adults. The project involved developing a custom WordPress website for the community, completed while consulting with the team at LevLane, a Philadelphia-based advertising agency that managed several retirement community accounts.
Retirement community websites are marketing tools aimed primarily at prospective residents and their adult children, who are often actively involved in the selection process. The site needed to present the community's living options, amenities, and environment in a way that addressed the practical and emotional dimensions of a retirement community decision — housing costs, services, activities, dining, and the overall quality of life the community offers.
Custom WordPress theming established the visual presentation, with page templates designed to showcase the community's character and offerings. The tone and visual approach for a retirement community site needs to be welcoming and accessible, reflecting the lifestyle the community promotes rather than clinical or institutional.
The Retire at Berry site was one of several retirement community WordPress builds completed through the LevLane consulting relationship, which also included Ventana, Legacy at Mills River, Searstone, and Ventana by Buckner. Working across multiple retirement community sites within the same agency relationship created familiarity with the content patterns and marketing approach common to the category, while each site required distinct theming to reflect the individual community's brand and setting.
