Fox Chase Cancer Center is an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center operating under Temple Health, with a long history in oncology research and clinical treatment. The project involved front-end work on Fox Chase's existing Drupal site, including both minor theme adjustments and a significant custom feature build, completed while consulting with Eastern Standard.
The primary custom feature was a patient video campaign tool — a system to encourage former patients to upload and share video testimonials about their experiences at Fox Chase as part of a social media campaign. The upload feature made API calls to a third-party video hosting platform to handle the file transfer and encoding workflow, while simultaneously capturing the submitter's contact information in the Drupal back end. This dual-pathway architecture — video content routed to the video platform, contact data written to Drupal — required the front-end submission form to coordinate across two separate integration points.
Videos required administrator review before publication. Once approved, videos were published to a video wall page showing the full collection of accepted survivor message videos, with a modal display for individual video playback. The moderation-to-publication workflow kept the campaign content under editorial control while giving the marketing team a growing library of patient-produced content.
Additional front-end work included several landing pages and promotional pages supporting the campaign, built within the existing Fox Chase Drupal theme and coordinated with Eastern Standard's project team managing the Temple Health web portfolio.
