The Temple Health Heart and Vascular Institute (HVI) is a cardiac and vascular specialty program within the Temple University Health System, offering services in heart surgery, interventional cardiology, vascular care, and related subspecialties. The project was an ongoing series of development tasks for the HVI site, completed while consulting with Eastern Standard.
The engagement operated as a support and maintenance relationship rather than a defined single-build project — tasks were addressed on an ongoing basis as the Eastern Standard account team and HVI's communications staff identified needs. This kind of engagement requires familiarity with the existing codebase and the ability to address a range of task types as they arise.
The majority of tasks involved front-end changes and fixes to the existing Drupal theme — layout adjustments, component updates, style corrections, and browser compatibility fixes integrated within the Drupal theming layer. Some tasks extended to functional updates on the Drupal back end, including content type adjustments, view modifications, or other CMS-level changes affecting how content was managed or displayed.
The HVI site was one of several Temple Health properties developed through the Eastern Standard consulting relationship, alongside Temple ReadyCare, the Lung Center, the Find a Doctor platform, the Flex Landing system, and Fox Chase Cancer Center. Working across the broader Temple Health portfolio provided familiarity with the health system's Drupal architecture and the conventions shared across its specialty site properties.
