Penn Social Policy and Practice

The Penn Social Policy and Practice project encompassed an ongoing series of development and server administration tasks for the Social Policy and Practice department of the University of Pennsylvania while consulting with Eastern Standard.**

The School of Social Policy and Practice (SP2) is an academic school at the University of Pennsylvania focused on social work, nonprofit leadership, and public policy education. The project was an ongoing series of development and server administration tasks for SP2's Drupal website, completed while consulting with Eastern Standard.

The engagement operated as a support and maintenance relationship rather than a defined project build. Development tasks addressed SP2's evolving site needs on an ongoing basis — a pattern common for academic department sites where the content team has a continuous stream of small changes, campaign pages, and content updates that generate incremental development requests.

The majority of tasks involved front-end alterations to the Drupal theme — layout adjustments, style corrections, component changes, and visual updates to the existing site presentation. Bug fixes addressed issues as they surfaced in the production site, covering both front-end rendering problems and functional issues in the Drupal back end — content type behavior, view output, or other CMS-level functionality that needed correction.

Server administration responsibilities were also part of the scope, consistent with an engagement that included operational ownership of the Drupal environment rather than only application-level development. The Penn SP2 engagement was one of several University of Pennsylvania Drupal projects handled through the Eastern Standard consulting relationship, alongside Penn Global, and shared the agency's established project conventions for the University of Pennsylvania account.
