Vaniam Group

The Vaniam Group project involved migrating over a couple dozen websites for the healthcare, medical research, and convention group while consulting with the people at Digital Yalo.

Vaniam Group is a healthcare communications and medical education agency focused on oncology and other specialized therapeutic areas, with clients in pharmaceutical and biotech companies. The project involved migrating over two dozen websites for the agency's portfolio of healthcare, medical research, and event-related web properties, completed while consulting with Digital Yalo.

The migration was primarily an infrastructure and operations project — moving a large number of existing sites from legacy hosting environments to Kinsta, a managed WordPress hosting platform. Migrating multiple sites in volume requires a systematic approach to accessing legacy environments, exporting databases and codebases, configuring new Kinsta environments, and validating that each site functions correctly after migration. Ensuring uninterrupted service across a portfolio of this size means managing the timing and sequencing of migrations, with appropriate testing before DNS cutover for each property.

The work involved accessing and exporting databases and code from the legacy server environments, configuring the Kinsta hosting environments for each site, and handling any migration-specific issues arising from differences between the old and new environments — PHP version compatibility, database character encoding, file path references, or plugin behavior differences.

In addition to the migrations, a few new sites were deployed as part of the project, including promotional sites built to process QR codes for special events run by the Vaniam Group. QR code-based event sites serve a specific campaign function — directing conference or event attendees to promotional content, registration workflows, or information relevant to the event context.
