When the Day Breaks

When the Day Breaks was a custom landing page created for a musician's album demo release.

When the Day Breaks was a custom landing page built for a musician's album demo release, designed to support a direct-to-fan distribution campaign for a free download. The project was a focused single-page build with a specific and defined purpose: collecting user information in exchange for access to the album demo.

The site's function centered on a sign-up form that captured visitor information — at minimum name and email address — as the gateway to receiving a download link. This kind of gated free download model is a standard approach for independent musicians building a contact list while distributing new music: the artist provides value in the form of free music, and the fan provides contact information, creating a direct relationship for future releases and tour communications.

The implementation was intentionally minimal — a landing page rather than a full multi-page site, with form submission and download link delivery as the core technical requirements. Form submissions needed to be processed securely, with the download link either delivered via automated email or presented upon successful form completion. The page's visual design served to communicate the musical project's identity and create enough interest to drive form completion.

Two screenshots in the portfolio suggest a two-state implementation: the initial landing page with the sign-up form, and a confirmation or thank-you state presented after successful submission — a standard user flow for this type of lead capture and content delivery campaign.
