Wonderball is a candy brand produced by Frankford Candy and Chocolate Company, known for its hollow chocolate ball containing a toy or collectible inside. The project involved custom front-end development for a Wonderball promotion, completed while consulting with Eastern Standard.

The promotion was co-branded with Despicable Me and the Minions, tying the Wonderball product to the popular animated franchise. Co-branded consumer promotions for candy products aimed at a family audience involve specific considerations — the brand partnership shapes the visual design, the promotional messaging must serve both the candy brand and the licensed property, and the digital experience needs to work for the primary demographic (children and parents).

Custom front-end development established the promotional page's visual presentation, incorporating calls-to-action designed to drive participation in the promotion and lead generation forms to capture consumer contact information. Consumer product promotions of this type typically use a combination of an engaging branded experience and a form-based entry mechanism to build a customer database while generating excitement around the product.

Eastern Standard managed the relationship with Frankford Candy and provided the creative direction for the promotion. Development responsibilities covered the front-end implementation — translating the co-branded design into functional HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and integrating the lead generation form into the promotional page experience. The Despicable Me and Minions co-branding required accurate representation of the licensed characters and assets within the promotional environment.
